The recent launch of the Creative Zen X-Fi2 challenges the Apple iPod Touch. More competitively priced but carrying most of the features it really is a stylish MP3.

The Zen X-Fi 2 is the first touch screen player of the Creative Zen set. It has a 3inch TFT LCD screen that you can just let your fingers stroke over to gain access to all the players' features instantly. The player comes with a set of high quality earphones that really give great audio that would compete with high end stereo speakers. They are top of the range ear bud style that block out ambient sound and come with changeable ear tips so that you can have the ones that suit you best.

The Zen X-Fi2 supports multiple audio formats including the must have Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) which delivers audio without compromising on its original sound. It also supports iTunes.

The player comes in 3 capacities, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB but if you need more memory you can simply pop a microSD memory card into the built in slot. The Zen X-Fi 2 has video out where you can share your photos and videos on a big screen TV and it also supports offline RSS feeds.

The player has an X-Fi Crystallizer that allows you to experience the true quality of the music as it restores detail lost in the compression process.

Another feature is the accelerometer function which allows you to rotate the player to adjust the orientation of your photos. You can share your music out loud with the built in speaker or use the EP-630 in-ear earphones supplied with your player. You can tune in to 32 preset radio stations for the latest news. At only 75grams it's easy to carry your Zen X-Fi 2 with you all the time. There is even a handy voice recorder built in to record a meeting or just a reminder. It also has an organiser with a built in alarm clock, calendar, tasks and contacts so you need never miss an appointment. The Zen X-Fi 2 even has a restrict volume feature that limits the maximum output for your safety.
